The Difference between the Patience of Non-arising and the Patience of the Non-arising of Dharmas

The patience of non-arising (anutpattika-dharma-kṣānti) means being patient with the fact that the five-aggregate body is generated and upheld by the tathāgatagarbha, being patient with the fact that the five-aggregate body is empty, illusory, and without self, and being patient with the fact that the tathāgatagarbha neither arises nor ceases, can generate the myriad dharmas, dwells within the five-aggregate body, and life after life transforms and generates one's own five aggregates. According to the degree of one's realization, this is limited to the three virtuous stages, and one has not yet entered the sage stages.

The patience of the non-arising of dharmas is built upon the patience of non-arising, realizing that all dharmas are also non-arising, realizing the consciousness-only nature (vijñapti-mātratā) of all dharmas, and subduing the grasping at self (ātma-grāha) (though not yet eradicating it); only then does one enter the sage stages and abide there without regression.
