The Information in the Tathāgatagarbha Is Shared

The tathāgatagarbha is like being on the internet, publishing information about its own five aggregates (pañca-skandha) at any time and place, keeping nothing secret. Then the tathāgatagarbha obtains information from another tathāgatagarbha, letting the manas know about it; the manas then discerns the information of that five-aggregate body. This is the relationship of resonance and intercommunication among sentient beings, also called the information sharing of the tathāgatagarbha. The tathāgatagarbha can, at any time and place, take in all information outside the five-aggregate body—all the realms of the six sense objects—and the manas can also contact them at any time and place. For information that is useful and significant to oneself, the manas alerts the mind consciousness to know it; for unimportant information, the manas handles it itself—either ignoring it or storing it in the tathāgatagarbha.

If sentient beings could share information among their six consciousnesses, with nothing hidden, everything transparent, with no dark corners, there would be no killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, or false speech—how wonderful the world would be, and how relaxed and joyful living would be. The minds of all Buddhas are transparent, without concealment. Among bodhisattvas with supernatural powers, the minds are also transparent, without concealment. Only such a quality of life is the highest.
