In the practice of Buddhism, one learns the formless Dharma. The mind must gradually detach from the secular world; only when the mind is detached from the mundane and its forms can it gradually become pure and non-active, thereby aligning with the non-active Dharma beyond the worldly realm. If even the most insignificant secular holiday causes one to care and conform, binding the mind tightly to the mundane world without cultivating detachment, how can one attain liberation? Secular people are deeply entangled in worldly affairs, while practitioners must ultimately transcend the mundane. Therefore, we cannot become overly attached to secular ways, sinking deeply into the mundane realm without seeking liberation and thus moving against the Way. When, then, will we ever set foot on the great path to liberation?
