The mind possessing ignorance is the five aggregates and seven consciousnesses. Eliminating ignorance means eradicating the ignorance within the conscious mind. Therefore, in practice, there is no need to cultivate the Dharmakāya Tathāgatagarbha; simply cultivate this provisional self. Through practice, remove the momentary ignorance, beginningless ignorance, and innumerable ignorance within the conscious mind. When ignorance is completely extinguished, one becomes the originally enlightened Buddha. Otherwise, this perfectly good Buddha will be burdened by the ignorance of the five-aggregate conscious mind and fail to reveal its original face.
The Tathāgatagarbha is like a precious pearl buried within the five aggregates. Though concealed, it still radiates light and moves the earth, perpetually fulfilling its inherent duties without ever giving rise to a single thought. We should diligently learn from It. When this understanding is fully realized, one becomes the Buddha, the World-Honored One.
