Supreme Bodhi Can Destroy All Wrong Views in the World

Supreme Bodhi can destroy all wrong views in the world. Where do wrong views arise from? They specifically arise from the view of self. Before ordinary beings attain fruition, they all believe in the existence of a self—considering the physical body as the self, the five aggregates as the self. All views stemming from this self-based standpoint belong to wrong views. Cultivating and realizing the Dharma can destroy all such wrong views and eliminate all evils of sentient beings. Upon attaining the first fruition (Sotāpanna), one severs the three fetters, including the wrong view of self, and eradicates the karmic retribution for the three evil realms accumulated since beginningless kalpas. Thereafter, one will never fall into the three evil realms again. The remaining karmic retribution will manifest only within the human realm, where one endures suffering; however, no matter how severe the suffering in the human realm may be, it is far happier and involves far less suffering than that experienced in the three evil realms.
