Question: When, upon hearing the Buddha's teachings and comprehending the principles, the conscious mind has already profoundly ascertained that the five aggregates are not the self, and this understanding has also permeated the mental faculty, why is it that the mental faculty has not yet confirmed the realization? Instead, why did the mental faculty attain realization only after subsequently practicing the Pure Land recitation method for a month or two?
Answer: The mental faculty relies on the conscious mind's contemplation to initiate its own contemplation. When the mental faculty's contemplation yields no result, or fails to reach a correct conclusion, it does not constitute realization.
