With craving as the cause, with craving as the origin, with craving as the source, with craving as the condition – understanding this principle is called penetrating the truth of the origin (of suffering). Furthermore, observe this continuum of the mind. All selected phenomena of cessation possess the nature of permanent cessation, the nature of permanent tranquility, the nature of permanent subtlety, the nature of permanent detachment – understanding this is called penetrating the truth of cessation. Furthermore, observe this continuum of mind. The ultimate antidote, the path leading to cessation, possesses the true path nature, the true suchness nature, the true practice nature, the true liberation nature – understanding this is called penetrating the truth of the path.

Explanation: Once again observing this unbroken continuum of the mind, it is with craving as the cause, craving as the origin, craving as the source, craving as the condition. Observing this principle is called penetrating the truth of the origin. Once again observing this unbroken continuum of the mind, all selected phenomena of arising and cessation possess the nature of being permanently extinguished, permanently tranquil, permanently subtle, and permanently detached. Understanding this is called penetrating the truth of cessation. Once again observing this unbroken continuum of the mind, it is capable of thoroughly counteracting all afflictions. The path leading to cessation possesses the true path nature, the true suchness nature, the true practice nature, the true liberation nature. Understanding this is called penetrating the truth of the path.
