If there is no change in body and mind, it shows that spiritual practice has not yet gotten on the right track.

Some people will say that attaining the first fruit does not eradicate afflictions, so the body and mind will not transform and there will be no significant change—this is normal. Yet in worldly matters, when the manas truly comes to know something, one can become extraordinarily excited, with great changes in the body and intense agitation in the mind—perhaps tears welling up in the eyes, perhaps the body and mind trembling, perhaps a solemn expression, or perhaps... .

During the process of cultivating the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment before attaining the fruits, the body and mind will undergo gradual changes bit by bit. If there is no change, that means there has been no cultivation—either the direction of practice is wrong, or one is simply not diligent and not putting one's heart into it.
