Ordinary Beings and Sages: Look to the Manas

Is the emanation body of a bodhisattva an ordinary person or a sage? Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva has thirty-two response bodies; according to whatever body is needed to liberate beings, he manifests that very body to expound the Dharma. Whether one is an ordinary person or a sage depends on the manas. Whatever the manas is, that is what the person is. If the manas has not awakened to the Way, the person is an ordinary person; whatever level of cultivation and realization the manas has reached, that is the person's fruit of attainment.
