All dharmas in the world may be used by me, yet not one of them belongs to me, for I am not the owner of any of these dharmas. None of them was born from me or conjured up by me; ownership does not rest with me—I only have the right to use them. Therefore, toward all dharmas in the world one should maintain an attitude of according with conditions: if they can be used, use them for a while; if they cannot be used, do not force the matter. In any case, I possess nothing at all, and will forever possess nothing at all. As long as something is useful, that is enough—why painstakingly pursue it? Only when one seeks nothing, only when the mind is empty, does great merit manifest, and the supreme worldly things come streaming in continually—yet they are only for my use, and still do not belong to me.
