The method for training rapid sleep begins with the consciousness suggesting the relaxation of the manas, which means allowing the manas to cease clinging to the body, preventing the body consciousness and mental consciousness from clinging to the body, and reducing the excessive activity of the five consciousnesses and mental consciousness. Next, the consciousness suggests that the manas cease thinking, meaning preventing the isolated manovijnana from arising. If the manas heeds the suggestion of the consciousness, the six consciousnesses will gradually weaken and eventually subside. To achieve the desired effect, the key lies in the consciousness providing guidance and the manas being obedient and compliant; thus, the goal can be achieved.
