The Hazards of Fast-Food Buddhism

Research is work within the realm of the conscious mind, akin to intellectual understanding. In truth, the cultivation and realization of the Buddha Dharma is absolutely not about engaging in research. In the past, Zen patriarchs were most averse to speculating at will, yet now such speculation is openly practiced. Brazenly engaging in speculation and intellectual understanding, practitioners no longer diligently and authentically engage in genuine cultivation. Witnessing Buddhism gradually deteriorate, what can be done?

The pace of worldly life has accelerated, and fast food has become very popular, leading to unhealthy bodies. Buddhism, too, has followed the trend, adopting this "fast food" approach, resulting in unhealthy thinking that manifests as a morbid state. Unaware of this, it instead flaunts this sickness as something admirable. Buddhist "fast food" arises from the restless minds of the masses, and its outcome is even greater restlessness, with an abundance of glib talkers and the like.
