What Is the Realization of Manas?

Question: When one hears the Buddha's teachings and understands the principles, and the mind consciousness has become deeply certain that the five aggregates are not the self, this has also been permeated into the manas. Why can the manas still not confirm and realize it? Instead, it was only in the following one or two months, while cultivating the Pure Land practice of recollection of the Buddha (buddhānusmṛti), that the manas realized it?

Answer: The manas must give rise to its own deliberation based on the mind consciousness's thinking. When the manas's deliberation yields no result, or when there is no correct conclusion at the time, it is not realization.
