Higher Morality, Predominant Condition, and Verbal Designation

Augmented precepts (增戒) means receiving the precepts once again. The predominant condition (增上缘, adhipati-pratyaya) is a condition (dharma) that helps and assists the arising of the mind consciousness. "Augmented speech" (增语): speech represents vocal sounds and language; using vocal sounds and language to manifest meaning is called augmented speech, and the vocal sounds and language that help manifest the meaning of the dharma are called augmented speech. Here, the meaning refers to the meaning of bodhisattva-mahāsattva.
