The Cleverness of Consciousness: When Intelligence Becomes an Obstacle

Consciousness is keen and sharp, yet the mental faculty is heavily afflicted; this is not a favorable sign. If consciousness perceives itself as clever, it will fail to examine its own inner state, remaining unaware of the need for introspection. Thus, it is impossible to uncover the afflictions within the mind, rendering one incapable of overcoming oneself or surmounting obstacles. To be outsmarted by one's own cleverness—this is precisely the case.
